river goddess
she steps through water ankle high
even on earth she walks as if in slow motion
as if she was pulling her feet through water
she stands on cool smooth stones
she can see through infinity
she can stop time
she can see what was
river goddess
she is not always seen
she is heard
she likes caves
and dips in the land
she will cut through a forest
and break up ice
cracking
echoing back into itself
with a touch of her hand
pieces
shards of broken glass ice
carried through land
down mountains
piercing through the greatest rocks
and down down down
falling off the longest cliffs
highest cliffs
water suspended in air
and into pools below
water is her home
water gives life
she is the guardian
and her steps move the greatest of barriers
